What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a powerful therapeutic approach that helps identify and process negative experiences or memories stored in your brain using your visual field. Discovered in 2003 by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting operates on the idea that “where you look affects how you feel.”

For example, when thinking about a specific problem, shifting your gaze to the left, right, up, or down might activate certain feelings or sensations. Some directions might feel more uncomfortable (activating), while others feel calmer or more grounded. During a session, we’ll work together to locate the “Brainspot” linked to the memory or experience you want to process. Once identified, I’ll use a pointer (or as I like to call it, my magic wand!) to guide your focus, helping your brain naturally release and untangle the emotions or memories tied to that spot.
